Instructor Profiles

Sue first got into the Salsa groove about 15 years ago and went on to teach with Andre & Charifi at Manchester's Copacabana Nightclub. Sue is a qualified UKA Salsa Dance Instructor who runs her own classes in the Warrington & Wigan areas where she hosts regular Salsa Party Nights and delivers workshops for students, organisations and schools. Sue has visited Cuba on numerous occassions to develop her knowledge of Salsa, Son & Rumba.

Rohan is an established instructor based in the Midlands who places particular emphasis on ensuring that his students have a great time whilst learning to dance. His classes focus mailnly on style and natural body movement, with his teaching influences that include Cuban & New York Salsa. Rohan regularly hosts Salsa Nights, Weekenders and Congresses as well as finding time to run his " One Stop Salsa Shop - Salsa Fever" and organising dance holidays abroad. A great time is guaranteed when Rohan is around.

Moe is one of the most exciting, inspiring and entertaining choreographers on the international Latin dance scene today. With the biggest smile in Salsa, his boundless enthusiasm for dance is impossible to ignore and he has gained his reputation through sheer determination and talent. As a leading authority in the field of dance, rhythm and body movement, Moe's unique style of teaching is now recognised internationally and has taken his workshops and shows to congresses and events all over the world.

Leandro was immediately crowned the Reggaeton King on his arrival in the UK and is one of the most charismatic performers around today. Leandro's style is unique and wildly entertaining. His fusion of raw energy from the back streets of Havana and classical ballet education could only happen in Cuba. His dance is edgy and athletic and at the same time full of grace and fun. Leandro has taught and performed in all of the Cuban dance forms ; Salsa, Son, Cha Cha, Rumba, Afro and of course Reggaeton. Leandro's warmth and enthusiasm for dance fills any room.

Rafael was the winner of best male Cuban Performer in 2006 and is widely recognised as the UK's very best proponent of authentic Cuban Salsa, Mambo and Rumba Dance styles. He spent his formative years at the Cuban National School of Art and Dance, graduating with Honours, before coming to the UK to star in the hit West End show Lady Salsa. Since then he was won two World Open Salsa Chassmpionship titles. His passionate style and intricate footwork has seen the uprising of Cuban style within the UK.

Yanet is one of the most beautiful dancers in the World and is a triple World Open Salsa Champion and star of the hit West End show Lady Salsa. Yanet spent her formative years at the Cuban National School of Art and Dance, graduating with Honours, and since coming to the UK has become an international Salsa star performing at major congresses throughout the world. Yanet was crowned winner of the best female Cuban Salsa performer at the Cuban Salsa Congress in 2006.

Damarys is a graduate of the National Ballet School in Havana and since her arrival in the UK has promoted and helped with the integration of Afro Cuban culture, dance and traditions. Damarys has participated, taught, organised, danced and / or choreographed for and with all the best dancers, teachers, dance groups, musicians and promotors that have something to do with Cuba in the the UK.

Susan trained in a wide variety of dance disciplines ( including Jazz, Tap & Ballet) before teaching Salsa for 10 years. Susan has studied Cuban popular & folkloric dance forms in both Havana & Santiago de Cuba. Renowned for her attention to detail,, style & technique, Susan is one of the UK's foremost teachers of authentic Cuban Salsa and regularly performs Cuban Dance Shows. Susan has an impressive knowledge of Cuban culture and is a fluent Spanish speaker.

Jim is a highly skilled teacher of Cuban Salsa with 9 years experience as well as being a celebrated and vastly experienced Latin Music DJ specialising in cutting edge Cuban Salsa & Timba. Jim regularly plays at many of London's top Salsa venues and is resident DJ at the Afro Cuban Lounge London's foremost weekly Cuban Salsa night.

DJ Hot Pepper is Salsa...feel the heat's resident DJ as well as being one of the North West's best World Music & Salsa DJ's and is a regular DJ / Compere at many of Manchester's major festivals. Hot Pepper has showcased his skills at Pontins Salsa Events and has hosted his own Radio Show Tropical Hits on several Radio stations over the past 4 years.

If you ever visited Havana, Cuba between 2002 and 2008 then you will have heard DJ Flecha. Flecha was the resident DJ at the Casa De La Musica in Havana where he mixed a potent blend of Latin and Cuban grooves. Flecha is currently resident DJ at the Top Cuban venue in London, Floridita.

Yersin was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba and has been teaching Salsa, Cha Cha, Son and Afro Cuban in the UK for the last 7 years. As well as his passion for dance, Yersin is also resident DJ at the Babylon Lounge in Brighton. Yersin is an energetic person who brings excitement and joy through his dance.

Cuban Band Mojito will play on Friday 3rd July.
This 5 peice band play Salsa with Jazz, Funk, Reggae &, Hip Hop to create their own unique style guaranteed to fill any dance floor. Fronted by the enigmatic Damian from Havana they are comfortable with many Cuban Salsa and Son classics.
